The full-scale war that began on February 24, 2022 shocked many Ukrainians and people around the world. Ukrainian history is one of russia’s main goals in this war. That is why museums and cultural sites in different cities often suffer from russian weapon.
The National Museum of the History of Ukraine is the main museum of the country. It represents the history of the territory of Ukraine from prehistoric times till now. Its branch museum the Treasury holds jewelry artefacts from ancient times, including world-famous Scythian gold pectoral.
Since February 24 the museum was closed for several months, but our staff worked every day to preserve Ukrainian heritage despite the danger. For example, the first artefact from the current war flew to us on its own, it was the bullet from the street shootout near the museum.
The state cultural expenditures are cut so much because of the war. We understand it, but we should defend and develop our museum with its staff. That is why we need friendly support. You can make a donation for the Charitable Foundation for Development of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine. This organization raises money for new exhibitions, equipment and publications of the museum. We report on all funds received.
